Exterior Church Lighting Debut

Thank you to all who so generously donated to Light the Way in December 2022, supporting the illumination of our historic church, which was officially lit during the Easter Vigil Mass.

In advance of the 100th anniversary of the building’s dedication in 2027, Saints Peter and Paul accomplished a major beautification project that not only visually enhances the stunning architecture of the church, it also provides additional safety and security for parishioners, students, clergy, staff, and pedestrians.

Outdoor lighting enhancements recently installed by Accents Lighting (accentslighting.com) include architectural spotlight fixtures throughout the exterior of the church, as well as the electrical wiring infrastructure to support it. The new low-voltage fixtures “stencil” the church with light—directed toward the sky and protected by shrouds to prevent light pollution to the neighborhood. The added electrical cost to the parish will be very minimal. 

Additional lights will be installed on the bell tower to complete the outdoor lighting project. We are grateful to Joseph Raoul, who brought the idea to Fr. Brad after seeing beautifully lit churches while traveling in Europe. And Saints Peter and Paul especially honors parishioner Ray Jones for his 25 years of leadership of the church’s annual fundraiser, Light the Way. Proceeds from the 2022 event made the lighting project possible.
